Clarolyn Maier

Clarolyn Maier began her musical journey singing in her father's church in Lake Oswego, Oregon where she started listening to jazz at and early age.(Billy Holiday,Sinatra,Duke Ellington,Chick Corea, Manhatten Transfer,Ella Fitzgerald and many others) She began her musical studies at a young age?including Violin, piano and later classical harp and voice. After graduating with a degree in Music from USC and UCLA(where she won the Gil Rodin POP MUsic Award and The Carol Burnett Musical Theatre Award)?The Hollywood Reporter praised her performances and Clarolyn expressed her true love of jazz?after graduation and ?traveled the world performing in many venues internationally and later landed the starring role of the Tony Nominated Broadway smash hit, "SWING!" a celebration of an era, touring the United States and Japan.

Her?two CD's "SESSIONS and "Standard Departures" have received admirable reviews nationwide. as well as internatonally(Time Out New York(Pick of the week)/Billboard"She has a special expressiveness"/Daily Variety "The Diva of SWING!"and LA JAZZ Scene says "She has what it takes to become a superstar."? "SESSIONS" is a favorite on the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage station WWOZ 90.7 and is currently getting airplay.? There are plans to record a world music/jazz CD in 2008 with renown music producer Leon Ware(Marvin Gaye/MOTOWN/Al Jarreau/Macy Gray)with a unique blend of? instrumentation (Vocals,Harp,piano and an array of lush musical ?combinatoins including original material by Clarolyn and classic latin /brazilian musical?stylings.
